The waterproof Dräger X-am 5600 is designed for use in harsh industrial environments. Protected against water and dust with an IP 67 rating and a rubberized housing, this gas analyzer operates reliably even under very adverse conditions.

Advantages of Infrared Technology
The high stability and resistance to “poisoning” of the sensor make infrared sensors suitable for operation for up to eight years. This significantly reduces operating costs for replacement sensors. Furthermore, this type of sensor requires calibration only once every 12 months, which saves additional maintenance costs.

Whether with a single or dual sensor—always accurate measurements
Dräger’s infrared sensors can be used to measure explosive substances or carbon dioxide (CO₂). The infrared sensor for explosive gases (IR Ex) reliably measures explosive, flammable hydrocarbons in the lower explosive limit range. This sensor also enables measurements in the range of 0–100 vol.% for methane, propane, and ethylene. The IR Ex infrared sensor has an excellent resolution of 0.01 vol.%, ensuring reliable and accurate measurements, as well as alerts in the event of toxic carbon dioxide concentrations in the environment. The risks posed by explosive substances and carbon dioxide are particularly important in wastewater management. This is easily achieved with the dual infrared sensor for carbon dioxide and explosive gases (Dual IR CO2/Ex).

Hydrogen Detection
In some industrial processes, hydrogen can act as an explosive gas. Since the IR Ex sensor does not detect the presence of hydrogen, the Dräger Xam 5600 can be configured with an electrochemical hydrogen (H2) sensor. This allows the advantages of robust infrared technology to be utilized in combination with electrochemical sensors for explosive gases and vapors.

Thanks to the combination of innovative infrared technology and state-of-the-art electrochemical sensors, the Dräger X-am 5600 can simultaneously analyze the concentrations of up to 6 explosive, flammable, and hazardous gases and volatile vapors, including oxygen (O₂), chlorine (Cl₂), Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Hydrogen (H2), Hydrogen sulfide (H2S), Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), Ammonia (NH3), Nitric Oxide (NO), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂), Phosphine (PH₃), Sulfur Dioxide (SO₂), Organic Vapors (OV, OV-A), Amines, Odorants, Phosgene (COCl₂), and Ozone (O₃). The sensors can be easily replaced, calibrated, or reconfigured to meet the various needs of users.

Flexibility in Use
With their compact size, ergonomic design, and lightweight construction, the Dräger X-AM series multigase analyzers are the perfect solution for use as a personal gas detector. Easy to operate with just two buttons, the analyzer offers simple and intuitive use. Gas measurement is diffuse, with sensor openings on the top and front—making it nearly impossible to accidentally block or cover them.
With the optional automatic external pump and a 20-meter extension hose, the X-AM 5600 is suitable for measurements in confined spaces, such as tanks or shafts.
In combination with the Dräger X-Zone 5000, the X-am 5600 can be used to monitor large open areas.
