Description

The X-am 8000 is the latest generation of “cloud-based” gas analyzers from Dräger Safety AG, featuring a built-in pump. Designed for simultaneous monitoring of 1–7 gases, including in confined spaces (CSE).

Advantages of the Dräger X-am 8000:

  • Specially designed with a built-in pump

The Dräger X-am 80500 is equipped with a very powerful built-in pump that can be connected to hoses (optional) of various lengths, including up to 45 meters. The pump operates only when you actually need it, as the device can also operate in diffuse measurement mode. This saves energy, increases the monitor’s battery life, reduces wear and tear, and extends the pump’s service life.

Standard accessories include a sturdy shoulder strap so you can carry the X-am 8000 comfortably and securely. Thanks to its compact and robust design, the device is highly durable even under the harshest working conditions.

  • Clear Alarms for Maximum Safety

The Dräger X-am 8000 signaling system complies with the requirements of EN 60079-29-1, EN 45544-1, and EN 50104:

  • Green light – the device is ready for use
  • Yellow light – an alarm related to the device, such as low battery
  • Red light – a gas alarm

The green light on the “D” indicator allows you to see from a distance whether the device is functioning properly.

In case of danger, the following alarms are activated: 3-color alarm LEDs (the “D” indicator), a loud 100 dB siren, and a powerful vibration.

The display features four preset hazard symbols that explicitly indicate the presence of explosive or toxic gases. This allows for easier identification of the type of hazard based solely on the symbol.

The X-am 8000 has a built-in drop and shock detection system. The event log shows when severe mechanical impacts occurred that could have caused functional damage to the device or its sensors. These events are recorded in the data memory and enable the user to perform a specific check on the device’s condition.

  • Work Environment Measurement, Presentation, and Documentation

The X-am 8000 effectively supports various applications with specially developed assistance functions. During the work environment measurement, the intelligent assistant calculates the required sampling time for the device and the probe based on parameters such as measurable gases, temperature limits, and hose length.

If high methane concentrations are expected, there is an option to automatically switch the measurement range: if the explosive gas sensor measures values above 100% LEL, the display will automatically switch to a range of 0 to 100 vol.%.

  • Cloud-connected

Enhanced safety and efficiency thanks to cloud connectivity via the optional CSE Connect. The X-am 8000 connects to a nearby phone via Bluetooth and, through the app, transmits data for cloud processing to the control center.  The CSE Connect app can also be used to generate reports, which helps manage workplace measurement tasks even more efficiently. With CSE Connect, you have online access to your data at any time and from any location with internet access.

  • Inductive Charging

The X-am 8000 is charged inductively, which simplifies operation and extends the life of the gas analyzer, as inductive charging protects the instrument from contact corrosion.  The charging stands can be connected to each other, taking up minimal space. Multiple charging stations can be connected and charged using just a single adapter with the appropriate power rating.

  • Cost-Effective Management

Bump tests and calibration are performed most easily and quickly with the Dräger X-dock. Low reference gas consumption keeps the operating costs of the X-am 8000 to a minimum.

The X-Dock Manager software is an intelligent addition to any device management operation, offering a wide range of useful functions. Barcodes or the integrated RFID transponder can be used to identify different X-am 8000 gas monitors.

  • A wide range of configuration options

Thanks to the combination of infrared sensor technology and proven XXS electrochemical sensors, a photoionization sensor, and the option to use pre-tubes, the Dräger X-am 8000 can simultaneously monitor the concentrations of up to 7 hazardous gases and volatile vapors. The vast array of different sensors allows the X-am 8000 to monitor 127 different hazardous volatile substances.

  • Accurately measures high and low concentrations of hydrocarbons

To measure low, hard-to-detect concentrations of hydrocarbons, the X-am 8000 is configured with one of two photoionization (PID) sensors. The PID HC has a range for isobutene from 0 to 2000 ppm, while the PID LC sensor for low concentrations is suitable for measurements in the range of 0 to 10 ppm, with a resolution of less than 1 ppm.

For specific benzene measurements, the X-am 8000 can be used in conjunction with a pre-tube upstream of the gas analyzer inlet.

  • Suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

The X-am 8000 is certified for use in a permanently explosive atmosphere, ATEX Zone 0.
