Alcohol ignition interlocks (intrelock, alcohol interlock, alcohol lock) are two-component systems that prevent a vehicle from starting if a breath test detects alcohol. Contrary to the common misconception that they are easy to cheat, alcohol immobilizers offer high protection and security against such attempts.
The nature of their use requires them to operate reliably, even under extreme temperature conditions ranging from -40°C to +85°C.
