A next-generation “cloud-connected” portable gas detector for hazardous and explosive gases. The Dräger X-AM 5800 offers improved impact resistance, an extended warranty, and state-of-the-art technology.
An ideal gas detector for personal protection, also suitable for monitoring and analyzing various explosive and toxic gases.
Advantages of the Dräger X-AM 5800:
-
Cloud-connected
Increased safety and efficiency thanks to cloud connectivity. Transfer your recorded data directly and conveniently via Bluetooth to a smartphone and from there to the Gas Detection Connect software backend. Alternatively, you can transfer the data directly to the cloud via the X-dock. This gives you secure access to your data, and analyzing it is easier than ever—anytime, anywhere—via your web browser.
-
High Level of Moisture and Impact Resistance
The Dräger X-AM 5800 offers IP 68-rated moisture and impact resistance.
-
Convenient Equipment Management
With the Dräger X-AM 2800, you can manage your equipment conveniently and efficiently in daily use. Optimize operating costs and time using the X-dock automatic test station with low gas consumption or the purely mechanical bump test station. Additional features include the intelligent software solution, convenient firmware updates via the X-dock, an optional RFID transponder, and custom color coding of the devices. A few, easy-to-replace spare parts—including the power supply—and durable sensors ensure that your gas detectors will operate for many years. Dräger provides an extended manufacturer’s warranty on the main unit. Existing accessories from its predecessor, the X-am 2500, can continue to be used with the X-am 5800.
-
Focus on the Environment
During the development of the X-am 5800, great importance was placed on the device’s environmental footprint. The durable sensors and rechargeable battery (easily replaceable with a single screw) ensure a long service life. Almost all replacement parts can be replaced by users themselves. In addition, existing accessories from the previous series can still be used. Environmental considerations have been incorporated into the technical documentation and packaging. To further protect the environment, Dräger also accepts returns of old devices to ensure they are properly recycled.
-
A wide range of configuration options
Thanks to modern electrochemical sensors, the Dräger X-AM 5800 can be configured to simultaneously monitor the concentrations of 6 gases. The sensors can be easily replaced, calibrated, or reconfigured to meet the diverse needs of users.
The new CatEx SR (Shock Resistant) sensor combines many advantages: extreme shock resistance and the ability to measure flammable vapors—such as gasoline, diesel, and nonane. It can be calibrated for methane, propane, hydrogen, and many other gases. At the same time, the CatEx SR sensor is resistant to “poisoning” by silicones and other substances. This combination of properties is unique.
With many years of experience in sensor technology, Dräger develops and manufactures its own sensors, including .
The X-am 5800 offers a wide range of configuration options, including:
- the powerful and durable XXS electrochemical sensors
- single and dual XD-IR infrared sensors
- PID neo photoionization detectors
Through various sensor combinations, this instrument can be used to detect 119 hazardous substances.
-
Flexibility in Use
With their compact size, ergonomic design, and light weight, the Dräger X-AM series multigas analyzers are the perfect solution for use as a personal gas detector. Easy to operate with just two buttons, the analyzer offers convenient and intuitive use. Gas measurement is diffuse, with sensor openings on the top and front, making it nearly impossible to accidentally block or cover them.
With the optional automatic external pump and extension hoses of various lengths, the X-AM 5800 is suitable for measurements in confined spaces, such as tanks or shafts. The pump starts automatically when connected to the device.
-
Suitable for use in explosive atmospheres
The Dräger X-am 5800 is certified for use in atmospheres that are continuously explosive (ATEX Zone 0).
-
For monitoring large areas
The Dräger X-am 5800 is 100% compatible with X-Zone, enabling measurement in very large areas (AREA monitoring).
- Flexible power options
It operates on both alkaline batteries and a NiMH rechargeable battery (optional), which can be charged directly in the instrument or via the even more convenient charging stand (optional). Rechargeable battery power provides up to 12 hours of continuous operation when configured with a catalytic sensor and up to 100 hours when configured with EC sensors.
