What is Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)?​

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that infects the stomach and duodenum, causing inflammation and even ulcers.

H. pylori is very common. Many people have it. Most people who have it do not have symptoms. H. pylori attacks the lining that protects your stomach. The bacteria produce an enzyme called urease. This enzyme makes your stomach acids less acidic (it neutralizes them). This weakens your stomach lining, leaving your stomach cells at greater risk of being damaged by acid and pepsin. H. pylori bacteria can also attach themselves to stomach cells. In this case, the stomach cannot protect itself properly. The area becomes red and swollen (inflamed).

How is it used?

1️⃣ Collecting a Sample
Collect a small amount of stool in a clean container or on a piece of paper. Use the provided applicator to collect a sample from at least 3 different areas without scooping.

2️⃣ Preparation
Place the applicator back into the buffer tube and shake well to mix the sample.

3️⃣ Testing
Break off the tip of the cap and place 2 drops of the mixture into the opening (S) of the test cassette.

4️⃣ Reading the Result
Wait 10 minutes, then read the result. Do not wait longer than 20 minutes to avoid invalid results.

Interpreting the Results:

• ✅ Positive: Two visible lines—in zone C and zone T (regardless of intensity).

• ❌ Negative: Only one line in Zone C.

• ⚠ Invalid: No line in Zone C—repeat the test with a new kit.
