Quick Vaginal pH Test

A rapid test for the semi-quantitative determination of pH in samples from a female vaginal swab. It is used for preliminary diagnosis. If the vaginal pH is abnormal, consult a doctor.

Testing Procedure and Interpretation of Results

1. Allow the test and the swab sample to reach room temperature (15–30°C) before testing.
2. Remove the test panel from the foil packaging and use it immediately after opening.
3. Place the test panel on a clean, flat surface or hold it with your free hand.
4. Use the swab to collect vaginal secretions and apply them to the test area of the panel at least 5 times. Make sure enough discharge has been applied to the test panel.
5. Read the result immediately, while the measurement area is still wet. Compare the color in the pH test area to the color scale on the foil packaging and note the value on the color scale that is closest to the color of the test unit.
6. After evaluation, discard the used panel and swab.

Interpreting the Results

Results are read by visually comparing the pH measurement area with the color scale on the packaging.

NORMAL RANGE: The indicator color is yellow-green—the vaginal pH level is in the range of 3.8–4.4.

ABNORMAL RANGE: The indicator color is green-blue (above 4.4) or bright yellow (below 3.8)—the pH is outside the normal/healthy range.
