Alcosim is a professional tool for verifying the accuracy and calibrating breath alcohol testers. By precisely maintaining the characteristics of a standard alcohol solution, Alcosim creates a moist air-alcohol sample with a stable and accurate alcohol concentration.

How It Works

The instrument is used with standardized reference solutions containing various concentrations of ethyl alcohol to create a simulated exhaled breath sample with a precisely defined concentration of ethyl alcohol. This sample is used as a reference when calibrating breathalyzers that test for alcohol in exhaled breath.

Alcosim is equipped with a reference thermometer that maintains the solution temperature within standard oral cavity parameters—34°C ±0.02°C. This is done to simulate the density, composition, and temperature of human breath as accurately as possible.

Easy to use

Alcosim indicates via its green LED and an audible signal that it has reached the appropriate temperature and is ready for use. Blow into the inlet to produce a breath sample with a specific alcohol content. The breathalyzer you are calibrating will record the reference values provided and adjust its readings accordingly.
