What is EtG (Ethyl Glucuronide)
Ethyl glucuronide (EtG) is a metabolite formed in the body during the breakdown (metabolism) of alcohol. It is used as a biomarker in alcohol testing. The urine alcohol test strip detects the presence of this specific alcohol metabolite—ethyl glucuronide.
How Urine Alcohol Tests Work
After alcohol is consumed, the body begins to break it down and excrete it through breath, sweat, and urine.
