Description

The PAC8500 series consists of compact personal gas analyzers—reliable and precise instruments you can trust with your life, even under the most adverse environmental conditions. The PAC8500 series features a dual sensor that allows for the simultaneous measurement of two hazardous gases.

The PAC8500H2S/CO has the same dimensions as single-channel personal gas detectors and simultaneously monitors the concentration of two hazardous gases: hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon monoxide (CO).

With the PAC8500, you save money and enjoy the convenience of carrying just one compact dual-channel detector instead of two single-channel detectors.

Advantages of the PAC8500:

  • Measurement of Two Gases via a Dual Sensor

The Dräger PAC8500 uses a special dual-channel sensor to measure the concentration of two gases simultaneously. You can choose from the following options: hydrogen sulfide at low concentrations with carbon monoxide, oxygen with carbon monoxide at low concentrations, or carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
  • Excellent performance for maximum safety

The Dräger PAC8500 delivers reliable and accurate results at all times, even under extreme conditions. Its reliable sensors and fast response time ensure that alarms are triggered promptly. In addition to the standard alarms, you can add an additional alarm for threshold limits and short-term exposure. The PAC8500 can store data on detected results with the date and time. The data can be downloaded to a computer and processed;

  • Carbon monoxide measurement with significantly reduced cross-sensitivity

In industrial settings where carbon monoxide is measured against a background of hydrogen, the instrument’s cross-sensitivity can lead to erroneous CO readings. With Dräger’s special hydrogen-compensated CO sensor, cross-sensitivity to hydrogen is significantly reduced.

  • Robust design for harsh conditions

The PAC8500’s sensors withstand pressures between 700 and 1,300 mbar. A special filter membrane protects it from dust and liquids. The housing is impact-resistant with an IP68 rating;

  • User-friendly

The special D-Light indicator shows whether the device has been tested and is ready for use. The exterior panels are designed with proper and safe operation in mind; each PAC8500 model features a different color for each sensor—ensuring clear selection without the risk of confusion;

  • A clear and easy-to-read screen displaying all essential information

The large display is wordless and clearly shows the corresponding gas concentration. Other important information, such as concentration units and battery level, is also displayed. The bright backlight ensures good visibility of the readings even in the dark;

  • 360° alarm and a variety of functions

If hazardous gases are detected, the PAC8500 alerts the user with an audible and visual alarm and vibration—two bright flashing LED indicators at the top and bottom of the housing and a 90 dB audible alarm. The display shows the current concentration at all times. The device displays a history of previous alarms. The oxygen sensor also has two additional alarms;

  • Low operating costs

All versions of the PAC8500 are equipped with extremely durable sensors and a powerful battery. The analyzer is designed to be protected against water, dust, and foreign objects thanks to its membrane filter. When the filter is heavily contaminated, it can easily be replaced with a new one, and the battery can last up to 24 hours without a power source;

  • Quick Functionality Test

Saves time and money. Functional testing and calibration can be performed efficiently on the Dräger X-dock station. Testing on the station is a cost-effective and convenient solution thanks to the short duration and the extremely small amount of test gas required. Once placed on the station, the PAC8500 automatically selects the appropriate settings.
