Automatic lancet, a needle with an automatic spring mechanism for painless blood sampling, size 21G.
Automatic lancet for safe and painless skin puncture
Lancet with a protective cap to shield the needle from contact with unclean surfaces, dirt, and pathogens. The user is also protected from accidental pricks.
Maximum hygiene
The automatic lancet is designed for single-use only. This ensures that there is no risk of transmitting pathogens or infections from one person to another due to the use of the same needle.
Painless sampling
The single-use automatic lancet uses a short, thin needle. It is equipped with a spring-loaded mechanism that propels the needle into the skin in a fraction of a second and then retracts it back into the housing. The prick is barely noticeable.
Easy-to-use automatic lancet
Extremely suitable for self-use, even without medical training. More convenient than standard needles used for manually pricking the skin when taking samples. Simply open the needle cap, press it against the site where you’ll take the sample, and press—that’s it! All that’s left is to collect the sample.
A practical solution
An automatic lancet can be used when performing at-home fingerstick blood testing, such as an antibody test for CoVID-19 or others—without needing a special lancet device that uses disposable needles.
If you perform regular tests, such as daily blood sugar monitoring, you can order the convenient automatic lancet device with consumables here.
How to Use
For single use only! To ensure maximum hygiene and avoid the risks of accidental reuse, the lancet mechanism is designed for a single skin puncture. Do not apply pressure to any part of the device before taking a sample, to avoid wearing out the mechanism!
- Wash your hands thoroughly with plenty of warm water and soap. You may clean the area where you will take the sample with a suitable disinfectant (e.g., a wipe, alcohol swab, or other appropriate product);
- Rub the finger from which you will take the sample to increase blood flow;
- Twist to remove the protective cap from the lancet (see the arrows);
- Press the tip of the lancet against the finger from which you will take the sample, and press the back of the lancet to prick the skin. You will feel a very slight prick. After pricking, remove the lancet from your finger;
- Hold your finger so that it points downward and wait for enough sample material to collect. If necessary, gently press the skin around the puncture site. Do not shake your finger or hand after pricking the skin, as this will cause the blood to scatter;
- Use a capillary tube, pipette, or dropper to collect the sample and transfer it to the test device.
With an automatic lancet, collecting a capillary blood sample is easy, fast, safe, painless, and takes literally seconds!
