Sperm Concentration Test Kit: Accurate and Fast Testing at Home

The Sperm Concentration Test Kit is an easy and accurate method for semi-quantitative measurement of sperm concentration in seminal fluid. This kit includes everything needed for 2 tests and is ideal for home use. It aids in the diagnosis of male infertility and pregnancy planning by assessing whether sperm concentration is above or below the threshold required for successful conception.

Key Features of the Kit

✔Accuracy: Semi-quantitative measurement of sperm concentration.

✔Ease of Use: Suitable for home use without laboratory equipment.

✔Convenience: Fast results in 15 minutes.

✔Complete Kit: Includes everything needed for 2 tests

How Does the Test Work?

The test measures the concentration of sperm in the seminal fluid by comparing it to reference values. It helps determine whether the concentration is above or below 15 million/mL—the threshold required for successful conception.

Mechanism of Action

  • The test uses a biochemical method to assess sperm concentration.
  • After adding the sample and the solutions, the test displays the result by coloring sectors A and B.

How to Use?

Testing Steps

1️⃣Prepare the test: Make sure the test is at room temperature.

2️⃣Collect the semen: Use the provided container to collect the sample.

3️⃣Incubate the sample: Allow the semen to stand for 15 minutes at room temperature to fully liquefy.

4️⃣Apply the sample:

  • Add 1 drop of the sample to sector A.
  • Add 3–5 drops of the sample to the sample well on the test cassette.
  • Add 3 drops of the staining solution to Sector A.
  • Add 2 drops of the wash solution to sector A.

5️⃣Wait: Allow the test to develop for 1–2 minutes.

6️⃣Interpret the result: Compare the color in sector A with the reference sector B.

semi-quantitative sperm quality test procedure

Interpreting the Results:

Normal concentration: The color of Sector A is darker than or the same as Sector B. The concentration is above 15 million/mL.

Oligospermia: The color of Sector A is lighter than that of Sector B. The concentration is between 5 and 15 million/mL.

Azoospermia: No color in sector A. The concentration is below 5 million/mL.

Invalid: No line in Zone C—repeat the test with a new device.

Useful Additional Information

Why does the semen need to stand for 15 minutes before testing?

Semen is viscous and must liquefy completely for accurate testing. Liquefaction is accelerated by the light brown powder in the container.

What should I do if the concentration is low?

If the result shows a low sperm concentration, consult a doctor for further testing.

Can incorrect results occur?

Failure to follow the correct testing procedure may lead to inaccurate test results. The most common testing errors are:

  • incorrect sample collection;
  • failure to follow the test’s time guidelines;
  • failure to observe the recommended abstinence period.

What affects sperm quality?

Factors such as volume, viscosity, pH, and sperm motility play a key role. A low sperm concentration may be a sign of reduced fertility.
