The detection limit is 0.2 ng/mL, and the test reliably detects ecstasy use dating back 3–4 months.

After ecstasy is ingested, it is metabolized and begins to be eliminated from the body through the excretory system and the pores. Ecstasy deposited in certain parts of the body, such as nails and hair, cannot be eliminated and remains there; therefore, the time window for detecting drugs in a hair sample is up to several months.

The kit contains a buffer solution, a lysis agent, and a special cassette for testing the resulting lysate.

The ecstasy hair test provides a visible result in 5 minutes.

How hair tests work

The hair to be used for the sample must be taken from the central areas of the head and close to the scalp—a strand at least 1 cm long and weighing at least 100 mg (5–10 hairs).

The average growth rate of human hair is about 1.25 cm per month. The longer the hair strand, the longer the detection window (it will “detect” use further back in time), but the optimal length for the test is about 4 cm; at this length, the test can detect drug use dating back about 3–4 months.

The hair test is performed by immersing the hair sample in a buffer solution and adding a lysis agent. The agent helps break down the hair and extract the substances from it. A liquid is formed, which is placed in the test cassette. The test result is ready in 5 minutes.

Important! Hair drug tests only detect the presence of the substance in question, but not when it was taken and/or how much.

Saliva tests are suitable for determining whether a person is currently under the influence of drugs, and if drug use is suspected, you can use urine tests.
