Dingo A-022 Non-Contact Breathalyzer

Suitable for self-testing before getting behind the wheel or for checking a loved one with an alcohol problem. Testing with the Dingo A-022 is completely non-contact; simply exhale from a distance toward the breathalyzer without using a mouthpiece.

IMPORTANT!!! Measurements with alcohol indicators are not precise. They provide an approximate alcohol concentration. If you require accurate measurements, choose a breathalyzer with a mouthpiece.

How do you use it?

Using the Dingo A-022 is intuitive and easy:

1️⃣Press the button on the front panel and wait until the breathalyzer enters standby mode.

2️⃣Exhale for 2–3 seconds into the sensor opening located above the display. When a breath is detected, the breathalyzer automatically switches to measurement mode.

3️⃣Result – The measurement result appears on the display in just a second.

That’s it! If you forget to turn off the breathalyzer, it will turn itself off automatically.

Important! The Dingo A-022 is a breathalyzer designed to provide a rough estimate of alcohol in the breath. It does not measure as precisely as breathalyzers with a mouthpiece and is not suitable for employee screening.

Testing Without a Mouthpiece

Advantages

✔ You do not need mouthpieces, which reduces costs and makes it more convenient to use.

Disadvantages

❌ When testing without a mouthpiece, the sensor receives a sample mixed with ambient air, which can affect accuracy.

➡ Solution: Position the breathalyzer about 5 cm from your mouth and exhale directly into the sensor.

Important Information About Calibration

Breathalyzers require periodic verification and adjustment of accuracy (calibration) due to the specific characteristics of alcohol sensors. Due to a specific characteristic called drift, even if the device has not been used, the sensor’s measurement deviation increases over time. Therefore, manufacturers recommend that accuracy adjustments (calibration) be performed periodically, at specific intervals and/or depending on the frequency of use. This mainly depends on the components used in the device. The Dingo A-022 uses a budget semiconductor sensor, so calibration should be performed every 6 months or after 200 tests, whichever comes first.
