This latest-generation alcohol breathalyzer model is manufactured by the Canadian company Alcohol Countermeasure Systems. Once turned on, Drivesafe is ready to test in no more than 5 seconds. Attach a new mouthpiece and instruct the person being tested to take a deep breath and exhale steadily through the mouthpiece, without pausing, for 2–3 seconds. A clear audible signal sounds from the moment exhalation begins until the sample is collected. The analysis of the collected sample is complete within 1–2 seconds.

The test result is shown on the display both numerically and graphically, based on the measured alcohol concentration. The display is large, the numbers are visible from a distance, and the backlight changes to three different colors depending on the result. The thresholds for the color change can be adjusted according to the owner’s preferences and needs. The default settings are: green – below 0.20‰, yellow—below 0.50‰, red—above 0.50‰.

Drivesafe uses a professional-grade electrochemical sensor, equivalent to the sensor in the breathalyzers used by the Traffic Police, providing reliable, accurate, and repeatable results. The sensor reacts only to alcohol and is not affected by cigarette smoke or other non-alcoholic aerosols.

The measurement units can be adjusted according to user preferences or local legal requirements. Five different unit types are supported.
